'nuff said, same old story: the year-end = time charts. Here's what to me were the finest discs of the year!
10. "Tons of Friends" - Crookers
On the bottom of the standings put the only group / Italian artist who this year has attracted my attention in the slightest. A little 'lack of alternatives (Afterhours, Verdena and Subsonica back next year), a little' for various disappointments (the new of the new lights of the Power Station is obscene), the choice lies with the Crookers, DJ Milan as saying that with controcazzi the title of the disc along with tons of international visitors have churned out a much Pizarro, but very well maintained, varied and explosive. Tons of this records! XD
Recommended Tracks: "We Love Animals", "No Security", "Couleur Cooler," "Put Your Hands On Me," "Royal T".
09. "Nightwork" - Scissor Sister
blatantly frivolous pop and the Scissor Sisters in 2010 have added to their discography on their best record. Nightwork with its allusions to the legendary singer and falsetto is one of those albums that is impossible to listen without disturbing your ass. a wink to the '70s as always, a little Justice, a bit 'by Depeche Mode and away, the album is done!
Recommended Tracks: "Whole New Way" "Any Which Way", "Sex & Violence".
08. "/ \\ / \\ / \\ Y / \\" - MIA
With an Oscar in your pocket you can easily lay your ass on a chair, make a record of crap and sell copies of the same in spades. MIA but is completely mad, luckily add. "/ \\ / \\ / \\ Y / \\" is a ridiculous hard, rough, bad, rough and flat-spotted there, no frills. The plays and seems to tell you "You do not like, well fuck you." I agree.
Remarkable violent short trailer made by Born Free from French director Romain Gavras.
Recommended Tracks: "Xxxo", "Lovalot", "Story To Be Told", "Born Free", "Meds & Feds."
0 7. "Further" - Chemical Brothers
An album by the book. Honestly, after "Push The Button" and especially "We Are The Night" I gave them to be lost. But eight years after "Come With Us" here they are with the album that everyone expected from them. Nothing revolutionary in their genre, but in fact, very well done. Interesting project for each song and video i live.
recommended tracks: "Escape Velocity", "Horse Power", "Swoon".
06. "Crystal Castles (II)" - Crystal Castles
The second, again self-titled, album the badness of the Crystal Castels blunt rude and unreasonable of the first album and trucks with a little 'variety, style and originality. Zarrume grade then, 8-bit sound that blends with the noise side of the dance duo the most violent of Canada.
Recommended Tracks: "Celestica", "Baptism", "Vietnam", "Not In Love" (but the version with Robert Smith !!!), "Intimate."
05. "Surfing the Void" - Klaxons
The classic album that on first listen does not tell you a lot but then remains in the MP3 player for months. I underestimated what came out, but I very much appreciate the post. Generally considered inferior to the first album (but I think just because you are made to wait too much) that adjusts the delusions of the first disc and gives personality to the band Klaxons. Live fan shit. Video
horrible for "Echoes," inquietantissimo video for "Twin Flames."
Recommended Tracks: "Echoes," "The Same Space", "Surfing The Void", "Astronomical Extras," "Twin Flames", "Flashover".
04. "Stridulum II - Zola Jesus
The typical artist that makes you think you're throwing your life down the toilet. Nika Danilova Roza is 89 and is fucking talented. In this "Stridulum II are collected the two EPs released this year (and Stridulum valuse) and if this is just the appetizer for what it can do in the future that there will be licking their chops. Music dark, claustrophobic and danceable but with outlets super voice that stretches: wonderful! Beautiful video for "Night" and the girl live rocks. Bad.
Recommended Tracks: "Night," "I can not stand," "Trust Me", "Tower", "Sea Talk".
03. "Forget" - Twin Shadow
It makes sense to make new-wave days today? Many try, few produce something decent. One of the few that there is just risucire Twin Shadow, American-born Dominicans. Warm, enveloping voice, music "simple" and melancholy lyrics. In short: If you like the genre, a must.
Recommended Tracks: "Tyrants Destroyed", "Tether Beat", "Castels in the Snow", "For Now", "Forget."
02. "The Suburbs" - Arcade Fire
This summer sborrai in underwear listening "The Suburbs". And now of course I have not changed my mind, but if this album is not the first place in my ranking is for two reasons: one is the output of an ordinary CD in my opinion much more deserving and the other is the fact that, as they say, I fell very hard for this. It's not that I have stew, is different. The fact is that after a few months I feel a bit cold and less urgent immortal "Funeral". This album is more polished and "beautiful" The Arcade Fire, but it lacks a little 'heart. Anyway I'm not crazy, it makes sense that it is here on the podium and if you want to know why you can read my review WONDERFUL! = D
Recommended Tracks: "The Suburbs", "Rococo", "We Used To Wait", "Sprawl II (Mountains Beyond Mountains)"
01. "My Beautiful Twisted Dark Fantasy" - Kanye West
The best album of the best rapper / whatever is Kanye. This album is absurd because the second I do not like to genre fans, but in Italy such as the target to which it addresses rather than listening to a CD by Kanye West makes a gastric lavage with bleach. The fact is that since money rapper from 4 infest MTV has decided to remove almost all kind from the plays possible. Error: There are beautiful album, indeed. Kanye West shoots her big (long his dazzling career, said he was inspired to Portished, Fiona Apple, Trent Rezonr and so on and so forth), but the important thing is that it's a fucking genius with a boundless imagination. Cross-references between songs and the other, the management of the many guests (Jay-Z, Rihanna, John Legend, etc.) that inspired him to bring out the best, the thousands of samples and quotations and a thousand other issues that deserve review and not a space like this, make this gem my albums Favorite of 2010!
Recommended Tracks: "POWER", "All of the Lights," "Monster," "Runaway," "Hell of a Life."
But I would say: "All .
Disappointments of the Year:
03. How to Destroy Angels
The draft Trent Reznor and his wife simply disappoints a bit 'on all fronts. Miss Reznor's voice is not excellent, the EP is obviously produced to perfection but the sound is the usual. New: ZERO. We expect something new, but mostly something more. I of course I bought the CD anyway (NIN-fan that I would be otherwise?).
02. "Happiness" - Hurts
More disappointment that I do not understand the whole 'I'm hype and' I'm outreach. Ok, "Better Than Love" I like a lot, but the story ends there. All smoke and roast zero.
01. "Senior" - Royksopp
Obscene . I say no more. There have been terrible, I have not even got the cd and now because of them there a hole in my collection but I refuse to fill! It's too crap 'album I am!
Special Mention!
Soundtrack of the Year: "The Social Network" - Trent Reznor & Atticus Ross
Ok, this award given I may not have any sense, can any of you. The truth is this is a really good album. Rarely is an original soundtrack that comes out of the cliché usual sulfur Hollywood. Trent and his now longtime collaborator instead drawn into the project after reading the wonderful script, create an accompaniment perhaps a bit 'too dark for what it says at the bottom of the film but that is perfectly suited to the vision that Fincher wanted to give the history. Also the music in question reveal that Trent did not feel as effective from the time of Ghosts I-IV (this soundtrack album that actually resembles a lot).
Furthermore, the first place if Trent and Atticus have deserved the fact that the return of Daft Punk with the soundtrack to Tron: Legacy is simply to forget.
Some interesting releases in 2011
Italy : Afterhours, Verdena, Subsonica, Caparezza.
R esto world : Fever Ray, Fiona Apple, Patrick Wolf, HTDA, Aphex Twin, , IAMX, Franz Ferdinand, Coldplay, Lady Gaga, U2, Radiohead (maybe), Bjork (maybe), Portishead ( maybe).
